IS03 - Energetic Issues and Carbon Emissions of Membrane Buildings
Title: Energetic Issues and Carbon Emissions of Membrane Buildings
Brief Description of This Session:
The large-space membrane buildings with good light and thermal performance are suitable candidates to utilize solar energy and reduce carbon emissions. The coupling interactions between solar energy, indoor environment and carbon emissions are complex and thus require more attention from the research and engineering community. As a result, the understanding of these issues to obtain suitable building performance of membrane buildings needs new ideas, novel materials and structural design methods.
Purpose of This Session:
The main aims of this session are to discuss the opportunities and barriers to energetic issues and carbon emissions of membrane buildings based on the recent research. The discussion is meaningful for minimizing the gaps between research and applications while providing potential research directions for future study.
I believe that this conference session can contribute to the success of Structural Membranes 2023.
